Abstract

The Katutubo Connect Learning Kit is a pioneering educational intervention that bridges the gap between traditional knowledge and modern pedagogy by integrating indigenous materials and cultural practices into teaching strategies. This initiative aims to enhance learners’ engagement, comprehension, and cultural appreciation while fostering innovation and sustainability in education.

Rooted in the principles of contextualized and culturally responsive pedagogy, the study employed a mixed-methods approach to evaluate the kit’s effectiveness. Quantitative data, gathered through pre- and post-tests, demonstrated a substantial improvement in students' academic performance, critical thinking, and active participation. Complementary qualitative data, obtained from teacher interviews and classroom observations, revealed increased creativity, heightened cultural awareness, and a strengthened sense of identity among learners.

The findings underscore the transformative potential of blending indigenous knowledge with contemporary educational practices. The Katutubo Connect Learning Kit not only enriches the learning experience but also promotes inclusivity, diversity, and cultural preservation. By contextualizing education to reflect the heritage of learners, this research contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting culturally responsive teaching as a powerful tool for fostering both academic and personal growth.
