Abstract

This action research explored the lived experiences of pregnant students at Alabel National High School during the school year 2025–2026. Teenage pregnancy is a continuing issue in the Philippines, often affecting education because of emotional struggles, stigma, and the demands of motherhood. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, five pregnant students participated as key informants. Data was gathered through semi-structured interviews, allowing the voices of the learners to be heard and understood. Findings revealed that the students faced emotional burdens such as fear, anxiety, and fatigue while trying to balance schoolwork and motherhood. Despite these challenges, they showed resilience and determination to continue their studies for the sake of their children’s future. Teacher encouragement, flexible learning assistance, and peer acceptance played a vital role in sustaining their motivation and helping them cope with their situation. These forms of school support served as sources of strength and hope, making education more inclusive and responsive. The study further introduced the AMOMA (Alang sa Maayong Obanan ug Matinabangong Atiman alang sa mga Nagmabdos) Program, an intervention aimed at providing supportive, accessible, flexible, and empathetic approaches for pregnant students. This highlights the importance of a caring school environment in ensuring that education remains a right for all, including young mothers.
